Biography

At the head of GAT – Gruppo Anticrimine Tecnologico della Guardia di Finanza, founded and led by him, in 2001 he directed the investigations that led to the definitive condemnation of the crackers protagonists of attacks on the web against the Pentagon and NASA, as well as those delegated by the Court of Auditors on the scandal of the slot machines not connected to the Tax Registry, an investigation that led to the condemnation of the top management of the State Monopolies and the concessionary companies to the payment of 2 billion and a half euros.

He is professor of “Digital Investigation Techniques” in the Master in “Forensic Criminology”; at the Cattaneo University Institute (LIUC) of Castellanza, of “Open Source Intelligence” at the NATO SCHOOL of Oberammergau (D) and of “Security in the telecommunications networks” at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Genoa.

On May 29, 2012, following his removal from office, he resigned from the Guardia di Finanza.

His removal is the subject of nine parliamentary questions.

As an advisor to Marco Pantani’s family, he testified on 16 April 2019 before the Anti-Mafia Parliamentary Commission, on the alleged “murder” of the cyclist who died of a drug overdose in 2004.
